World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item lets players boost an item's gear rating up to 700 points and give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like perfect made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a single unit. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage that an upgrade alone can cause.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. This is usually a good thing, but it can also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make items inaccessible, unless you're exceptionally lucky.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to improve their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reduce its value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the item menu. This will reroll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels, or bind it to account status.
Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference in your ability to survive. item upgrades provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the greater health you will get from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the fountain in question, you can then speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid conditions with a large number of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.
You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, item upgrades 'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some upgrades of the helmets and chest armor that let you stealthy battle some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, if consumed, give the user the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five different types of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion used and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to choose the potion that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions for instance have now a duration of zero, not the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item. The table for potion is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The potion table is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant such as a tiny thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as older one, and include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
When the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they won't replace in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
After they've become unusable, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
