Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment by adding new attachments. They can also boost its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.
In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must choose it and click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the necessary material or component needed to complete the upgrade.
There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph with another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant variations from previous versions. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a handful of important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple items.
Once an item has been completed in this way, it is able to receive a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.
If item upgrades is not able to reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower success rate.
Engineers use a level in order to measure the height of the building against an established location, such as an existing benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game, and it can boost the strength, damage or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling is costly and should only be done in very rare instances.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which can be used to acquire tokens for rerolls. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
Prior to this, some upgrade item s were given priority affixes that made them easier to roll. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a great or a negative thing dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the item's power by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.
The game also includes several sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on a unit. This is a good way to give a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a way to create a more powerful character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and reach higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in various ways. They can have various sizes, contain no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items to parity with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.
To see if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen for their character. The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
