World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items can be used to increase the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.
Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specified amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. This value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.
Item level is a popular measurement of power and is visible on all item tooltips. It also serves to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can evaluate the item level. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it is capable of causing. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done using the item level.
The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full item description, including its value. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories on how the item level calculation is carried out. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula which calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. item upgrader can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl as the level of the region the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, for instance by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher value.
Item Stats
The item's stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods which are then enhanced by the player's level.
Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.
item upgrades can also be used to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can provide the item additional damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down the cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.
Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other rerolling methods.
Players can upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it's a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss in a raid.
item upgrade is another thing that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to enhance. But as with base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves and is therefore more valuable in early game runs than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.
Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) for a further +40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Additionally some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't be greater than 100%..
The success of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of the item. Each item has a base success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.
Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects may be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
